Atropos

Oil on Linen, 61x 81 cm

This was meant to be the final work in this series originally intended to be shown at Gaffa Gallery. Atropos is the name given to one of the 3 Fates in Greek mythology, and she is responsible for cutting the thread of each human life, i.e. deciding the time and manner of an individual’s death.

Again I’ve used the bishops mitre out of its usual context, but it still references a higher authority. The skulls in the background could either represent the past or future fate of us all.
